KITCHEN FIRE SAFETY TIPS
(1)Make sure you are not distracted while cooking as this is the major cause of fire outbreak in the kitchen.
(2) Always ensure that the Stove is not forgotten as a result of distraction while cooking

(4) Make sure your saucepan handles are not placed in such a way as to become hot while cooking.
(5) Be careful when frying as hot oil easily catches  fire.
(6) Ensure proper ventilation in the kitchen.
(7) Ensure that matches, lighters and the likes are stored beyond the reach of younger children in the kitchen.
(8)Smoke alarms should not be stored in the kitchen.but could be fitted in all other rooms.
(9)Avoid cooking when under the influence of alcohol as to loose concentration.
(10)You should be able to switch off your electricity or gas supply source when there is the need to do so.
(11)Ensure that you off the cooker when you finish cooking.
(12)Gas cylinders must be stored outside the kitchen as a means of reducing fire hazards.
(13) Educate your children on the dangers of turning kerosene in the stove while on.
(14) Do not use water for electrical fires.Switching of the power or removing the appliance plug may solve the problem.
(15)Fire blanket is a necessity in the kitchen.Apart from being used to cover fire thereby starving it of air to burn, that is putting off fire,the blanket can be used to cover a person whose clothes are burning.
